When I received this vanda in spike/bud, I was told that it was a hybrid between V. Rasri Gold and Sanderiana. The form of Sanderiana wasn't indicated. So, I figured it was Sanderiana 'Pink'. My understanding is that Sanderiana is usually the stronger parent. So, I was expecting speckled, two-toned (light pink, green or greenish-yellow) flowers. However, as you can see, that's not what I got.
I do see Rasri Gold features with a very slight pink blush on the lip and up in the throat. Perhaps the Sanderiana is an alba variation? In any case, I love these blooms. I just hope there is a way to verify the vanda's parentage somehow.
