True blue...
Blue is an unusual color in the plant world in general, and certainly among orchids. "Coerulea" is blue-violet, not truly "blue". Cleisocentron merrillianum is definitely blue - tips of the petals are almost turquoise. The patch of deep purple in the throat is a nice contrast. Its close relative, Cleisocentron gokusingii, has flowers that look identical. Clctn. merrilianum has long terete leaves, Clctn. gokusingii has shorter, semi-terete leaves. Both can bloom several times a year. The blue color is more intense in cooler weather (which what it's getting IS NOT) but this still is quite a nice blooming.
Color is accurate - photographed in daylight, no post-processing. Plant is growing on a slab of wood shingle with sphagnum under it, the basket was just to hold the mount in place for the photo.
