Does anyone have any good information on vanda topping? What happens to the bottom
Portion? Does it ever produce new leaves? Will it ever produce a spike or is the only hope for the bottom a keiki? Thank you!
When Vanda tops are removed they must already have roots or they probably won't survive. It is uncommon for leafless topped lower stems of Vandas to produce a new shoot, even if they have leaves. Spikes come from portions of stem with leaves.

I'm not sure the system will let you post a photo until you have 5 posts, though I have seen some cases where it seems to be possible. But if not, you could include a link to another place on the Web (like Google Drive or Flickr). But a photo of the plant is vital to be able to give a reasonable opinion. Also, where do you live? Once can get away with things in south Florida that don't work so well for indoor or even greenhouse growing elsewhere.
