I assume the moss is not in contact with the roots???

Great idea.
If you wanted to make it not necessarily prettier but more solid you could look for old tupperware or similar plastic storage containers , the type that was promoted as breakfast cereal storage, tall and fairly thin. I think that would be easily able to have holes put in the top for hangers and also provide a stable base for the pot while keeping the humidity.
Also gives a second life to containers that may have lost the lid.

nope, not yet.

originally my plan to vase this orchid up since it is a very slow growing type. I can not balance it for the life of me. This will probably just be his temporary accommodation for now. I have so much to work on like my cattleya for example, they will all have to bear with me for a while.
