Vandas
Other than my Sarcs which seem to handle the winter outside with no problem I only have a few Vanda types.
Aerides leeana
Aerides oderata
Aerides houlletiana
Aerides quinquevulnera
Vanda Pachara Delight
Vanda Siriporn Pink
Rhynchostylis coelestis 'Blue'
Perreiraara Bangkok Sunset
"Given that the above named plants are all small I might just bring them inside for this Winter, no sense in pushing the boundaries while they are still so small".[/QUOTE]
I have a few of the orchids you list, growing in bushes on the south side of a shed. I do not bring them in ever, as it's not feasible due to the long winding roots. I'm not familiar with your weather in Australia, but it gets to a low of 30F, and a high in the mid 9os hear in E Central Florida. I spray them twice a year with liquid seaweed, and fertilizer. I only water if there is a prolonged dry spell and never in the winter. They bloom each year, sometimes twice. Vandas are a quite resilient species.
