I bought a Vanda javierae from Martin Motes a few years back. It bloomed as V. barnesii. I asked him if he ever saw it in bloom, and he said no. I sent him a photo and he agreed it was V. barnesii. No apology, no attempt to resolve the mix-up. He said I should be happy it is a V. barnesii since they are hard to come by. I told him I had 5 sources for them, and this was my third one, and that I was having a hard time finding V. javierae, which I expected this one to be. Rather disappointing experience from an experienced grower/expert. I did keep the vanda, though because it had a nice form.
