Smile V. Dr. Anek x Mimi Palmer 'Midnight Serenade'

I've had this vanda for less than a year. It is the second spike, but the first one was totally consumed by bugs because I simply didn't pay attention until it was too late.

I hope the color will get darker as it's the reason why I got it. It only just opened and I'm excited because I've waited quite a while for it. I've seen some quite dark photos of it, but who knows if they're edited or shot in low light.

I've attached a photo with other vandas for comparison. Hope you like it. Hopefully it gets darker!

That blue lip is particularly striking! Nice!

Thats a lovely bloom!
Yes it does look a little darker in the second photo.
Looks you have quite a collection of Vanda's, I like them all but colour of the cornflower blue one at bottom left is really attractive.

I've only recently got into the Vandaceous group, but my collection has grown quite rapidly as I found they grew quite well for me.
Four Aerides, leeana, houlletiana, oderata and quinquevulnera, two vandas, a Rhynchostylis coelestis 'Blue' and Perreiraara Bangkok Sunset 'BK'.
All bought as tiny seedlings but growing well.

Great!!

They are growing very well here as well. Very little maintenance as I water them automatically, except from fertilizer and insecticide which I apply manually.

Let's see if my most recent acquisition V sanderiana will make it through the winter. Never killed a vanda, but that one will suffer during the winter which could hit 13 degrees C. I keep mine outside 24/7/365.

The V. sanderiana has a lovely bloom and fragrant too I read, hope it does well for you.

Mine grow outside too, under a solid verandah roof with clear panels.

I like the deep colors. Did it inherit any scent from Mimi Palmer? Vanda tessellata's one of the best-scented orchids I've ever smelled.
