Vanda Ambrosian Discovery
Purchased this primary hybrid (V. tricolor, var. suavis x V. insignis) from Motes a couple of years ago as a large seedling. I think it bloomed first time last year. This year:
In May it produced two good spikes. Since I was going to AOS judging with some other plants, I took it along and it received an AM/AOS (photos below). One of the features that appealed to the judges, is that it has a fairly large lip (many Vanda hybrids have a tiny lip, that you can barely see).
In late June it produced a 3rd spike, not well developed.
In August I got a 4th spike, well developed.
November, it is just opening the 5th spike of the year.
To boot, it is a very vigorous plant. It has 2 or 3 basal keikis, which are approaching the size where I might separate them.
