This is a trichoglottis ordered from Orchid Classics in May of 2021. I am thrilled that it has survived my care, and although a specimen plant would be covered with flowers, I am happy with the progress considering it arrived as a cutting. Still wrestling with mounted plants!

It's growing and has nice roots! And the roots look rather well-behaved. I haven't grown this one, my experience with the genus is with a cutting of Trichoglottis atropurpurea, which has totally wild aerial roots all the way up the plant. What I did with that one was to put the lower roots in a pot, then tie the plant to a piece of hapu'u (tree fern slab) and use a stake to keep it in place above the surface of the pot. Eventually it rooted into the hapu'u. But seems to need those roots in the pot to keep it going until the aerial roots establish. Don't know if the approach would be useful on this one, just a thought...
