I got this vanda for my birthday, and I am pretty new to orchids. I was sick last week and totally spaced when I put her in water to soak for the daily 15 minutes down in south Florida, and didn’t remember until about 18-20 hours later. And now all her new growth and root tips are black... does anyone know what I should do?
well the most important thing is that you know why it happened. It doesn't sound or look like they got burnt (which happens from too much fertilizer).
It's a set back but in time it should start producing new roots again. I can see at least one active root tip still so just don't do it again.

There seem to be a lot of breaks in those roots - something that should be avoided.
This will be a bit self-serving, but get a bottle of KelpMax and soak the roots for about 15 minutes in a 1-ounce/gallon solution. Repeat in two weeks. You’ll have lots of new root tips in a few weeks.
