Excess fertilization and watering with water high in dissolved minerals can also cause leaf tip burn and root burn.

This is prime season for Vanda growth, by the way. Both my Vandas have new roots sprouting out and growing vigorously.

Right now because it's getting warmer, you can get away with watering everyday.

Hello KMK,

I'm sorry to see your Vanda like this. I feel your pain...
I have to ask something, and I'm sure my gut feeling is correct.

Did you get this Vanda from Bill_Asia?? As I recognize his Orchids very well anymore. As I've blown way too much $$$ on that mans orchids. All dried up, desicated, diseased, black, brown, yellow leaves. Paid for SPIKES, didn't get them. If I might get a Spike or Sheath, but the plant is so 'dead, I don't think they'll push out any buds/blooms.

Right now, I have 3 of his plants in Shpag and Bag, trying to bring them back to life.

I only ask because I saw that same look on your Vanda, and thouht How ironic, as that's just what I recieved too, last week. Then I saw the packaging with the white paper and numbers in marker. I know that's how they send theirs, taped up at ends.

I hope you get your Vanda back to life!
I hope I get mine to do the same.

Whether you got yours from him, or not, just a Fair warning, to Stay away... The MOST, unhealthiest orchids I've ever ever purchased! I won't be back there!

Good luck with your orchids!!

I really love these and want to learn more about them. Any help you can provide?

Yes, unfortunately I did. Many of the plants from him are now dead. The 2 vandas are still alive. Tell me how you do your Shpag and Bag. Thanks!

I think part of your problem (to the original poster) is just that the plant was probably ripped out of it's wooden basket tearing the roots out, and only a few stayed with it. So you're fighting a sever shock to the plant... I would say the two vandas I got from Bill_Asia also came in the same condition as yours, although they are doing all right now, despite the poor root system they started with.
