Red face Is my vanda dying? - Beginner Help!

Hi I'm wondering if the root is rotten, it is hard and brown but the edge seems functioning and green after soaking? I would also like to address some of my plant in the Image bellow turned yellow. My vanda was given to me 5 days ago and so I'm a complete beginner looking for help. Thanks!

Hi There,
I see you grow it bare root with not a lot of roots on the plant. I don't know your growing conditions especially humidity levels but it seems quite dry. I have similar issues here in South Africa with heat and low humidity so I mounted some similar orchids to a peace of wood and added some material to retain some moisture. Hope this helps

Welcome to the Orchid Board! Vandas need a very large amount of water. When bare root they need water at least once a day, twice in hot weather. Don't cut off any roots. Give it lots of water, and plenty of light, but don't let it sunburn. They also need fertilizer or they don't grow much. What kind of fertilizer do you have?
