Found a new feral Vanda

It's a brown coloring instead of purplish/reddish like the last one.
The coloring makes me think of the V. Trimerrill, except the pattern is much different and the flowers are smaller.
Might be a different grex?

We bough this property about 7 or so years ago.
Hadn't the faintest idea there might be orchids, other than terrestrials (Bamboo's and Spathoglottis's) on it.

I ended up finding one type growing around the lot on trees almost everywhere in large numbers.
I cut down a dead tree and sent a fairly large number of rescued orchids from it to a member here.
She I.D.'d them as V. Trimerrill.
On looking it up, I had to agree and have called it that ever since.
The breeder of that hybrid was part of the family that used to own the land our subdivision is on.
I assumed the V. Trimerrill was an escapee from him.

Then, a few years ago I began to see other types around here.
The numbers of V. Trimerrill seem to be coming down as the number of other types go up.

This one makes 4 Feral types I've found on our lot with 2 others on other properties nearby.
There are also many other small Vanda type orchids around that haven't bloomed yet.
Don't know what they are now.

Vandas and other orchids can easily be acquired from nearby farmer's markets.
The breeders and growers send their leftover orchids there to cash them out.
Many locals, besides myself, get them and take them back to their yards.
There maybe a thundering heard of new Vandas populating the area from those brought into yards.

This area seems to be a place that Vandas love.
I'm thinking it's a very interesting development.

Actually, that looks to me a lot like Vanda tricolor. The V. tricolor var suavis has a a more white background, with markings more purple than brown. This looks like the var. tricolor, with the brownish markings. These are mine...
V. tricolor and V. tricolor var. suavis (or V. suavis)

Fantastic having them in your trees! If any are at "nose" level, they're fragrant.

The V. Trimerrill is a primary hybrid of V. tricolor and V. merrillii.
The lip on this one is colored like the one on the V. Trimerrill which is like the one on V. tricolor.
I'm convinced this one is probably a V. tricolor hybrid.
I assume all Vandas here are hybrids.
I couldn't be lucky enough to have species growing around the yard.

At first glance I also thought V. tricolor, but with that lip it is probably a hybrid with V. tricolor as the pod parent.
