Some of those roots actually look decent - maybe not wonderful, but adequate to support the plant. Your challenge will be to keep it moist enough. The vase idea can be used quite successfully...Fill the vase with water for a short time to let the roots absorb water, then pour the water out. The vase will provide a humid environment with air (which is what they want) It also admits light - roots can photosynthesize.

The plant looks very healthy... if the roots get an environment that they like, you will soon have plenty more.
