Vanda Has No Means of Hanging - Need Suggestions
Default Vanda Has No Means of Hanging - Need Suggestions

I have had this wonderful Vanda for a couple of years and it was hanging on a hook on a robellini palm. I wanted to move it to another area of the tree and it seems that the hook to hang it from had its end hook inside the plant. I had to pull the metal hook out and now have no way of hanging the Vanda . It is a good size too. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Orchid Board! The plant looks great.

You can make your own wire hanger. Buy some non-rusting wire at a hardware store and bend the ends into hooks.

You can use string or rope. It won't last as long. Use cordage that is labeled ultraviolet resistant.

first, welcome!

do you by any chance live in the Boca area? I know a Terri there with cool vandas?

i would just use another hook. either buy or make your own about 24" and use a few zip ties or wire ties along the stem to the hook, then hang her where you want.

happy growing!!
