Very nice! What is you plant potted in, how often do you water it....any special care? What about the amount of light it is getting?

I love the color! What clone is this? Keep up doing whatever you're doing - a mature Princess Mikasa can bear several inflorescences at a time, each with twelve+ flowers.

Mine is an unnamed clone, and is sitting in a plastic basket inside a plastic pot. It was in bark initially, but I removed as much as possible so that the roots would be sufficiently aired out.
I fertilize every day with MSU @ 125 ppm N. Once a week or so I water with just plain water. I take it to the sink and drench it liberally.
It is hanging in a SW facing window which is essentially unobstructed.

Ascda. Princess Mikasa 'Blue' and Ascda. Princess Mikasa 'Pink' are mericlones widely sold at orchid shows and are sometimes available at big box stores. Many bloom on only 3 to 4 pairs of leaves; once stablished, they bloom their heads off. Should a mericlone receive an AOS award, its clonal name ('Blue' or 'Pink') will stick and be followed by the award, i.e. HCC/AOS, AM/AOS, etc.
If your plant is a seedling or has no clonal name, you get to give it one when it is awarded by AOS.
Our first AOS award is to Ascda. Princess Mikasa. 'Kinda Blue' is now 13 years old; besides a main fan, it has 4 keikis. It flowers several times a year; we're keeping our fingers crossed that the current 9 inflorescences bloom at the same time at the end of October. Will take pics when it happens. In the meantime, keep the vanda forum going. It's great to hear and see what everyone's doing ... Joanna

Hi all. Show us your photos of Princess Mikasa. I'm told that there is even an orange-yellow in the works but haven't seen it yet. Anyone out there have one?
