Don't your plants fit in smaller buckets? There's no point to submerging the whole plant. The roots absorb water.

The roots on some of them are 3-4 feet long

I’ve tried shallower vessels but the roots inevitably start to split from being contorted so regularly. I soak for a full 10 hours every night.

I can't really find anything on iron chlorosis in orchids, so I wouldn't really worry too much about being
affected by it.

As long as you refresh the bucket solution with some frequency, you should be fine.

This is so very helpful! My hibiscus looked like this for most of the spring and I wondered what was going on ... it’s a lot better but now I know! Thank-you.
