Default Vanda with no roots

I just rescued a Vanda from my mom and it’s looking like it has no viable roots. I know for Phals I’ve just set them in water and eventually roots grew. Can I do the same for Vandas?

I have never done the above. With phals or any orchid, but for my vandas rescues( and the one time I broke a really big keiki off at the base), I just wrap the bottom in really loose sphag and treat it like normal.

If you have cloning powder or gel you can dip the bottom in that as well and kelpmax is Merlin’s magic as far as I am concerned
