might I be overwatering my Vandas now?

I have been soaking my three vandas every night for the last five months in a pail for 1-2 hours each, the plants have seemed to like it as they are creating new leaves and have taken on a healthy appearance with a dark green stiffness to them on their base with a lighter green towards the top leaves.
They have produced new roots during this time through the winters end and spring beginning here but I am concerned with the roots lately as they dry out very quickly after their bath and some have become quite shrivelled although the vandas themselves seem fine?

I've become interested in the vase culture of Vandas and only have 3 but doing well. My routine is to water 2x/wk leaving vase filled overnite. Roots and leaves are appearing altho some of the thinner roots are dark and blackened. I have them inside near lights or even outside under umbrella. Lowes just got some in...save me.

Vandas are not for beginner's orchids, and even among more experienced growers, they require certain elements that can be hard to deliver at home. They need high humidity and high temperatures, bright light, and proper air flow. They need periods of drenching "rain" followed by a hard dry period. Some of the plants are flooded and under water for days in situ. And large specimens, including their curtain of aerial roots, can easily grow to five or six feet in length. Vandas require bright light, but generally, do not thrive in full direct sunlight.
Do not worry about overwatering as long as you also give the roots some time to dry, then you may soak them again. Five of my Vandas are in vase culture. In winter, I provide my Vandas with a humidifier that has an oscillating fan and an electric heater….its warm and humid in Manhattan now so I bring them out on the fire escape ….it has full sun from 7am to 10am then the tall buildings shade it the rest of the day....in winter they are all indoors placed on the south facing bay window ….
