First time flowering for this plant. Grown in a glass vase in a south facing window. This is a primary hybrid between brunnea and insignis, it has a powerful citrus scent on warm sunny days.

Very pretty flowers, and a very nice photo to show them off! I didn't know that at our latitudes it was possible to bloom vandas indoors. I also have south facing windows, so this very good to know!

I think there is a huge fallacy about vandas not flowering in Northern latitudes. I currently have three vandas in bloom, another in bud and two Neofinetia in bud as well. All grown without any supplemental light - this is in Western Scotland with about 1200 hours sunshine per year.

I have a bunch of Neos, but grow those under supplemental LED strips in the winter since in the wild they get higher light in winter than summer, but still thought Vandas weren't possible.

Western Scotland isn't really known for its sunshine either, so it goes to show that not all accepted truths are completely accurate.
