My Shutennou 朱天王 didn't bloom this summer; perhaps the record-shattering heat wave did that. But strangely, it decided to do so in the middle of the winter...just one inflorescence though. Currently mounted on a small piece of cork.
The problem is that it sits right next to my Brassavola nodosa, which is also in bloom....in the evening my nodosa dominates everything around it and my Shutennou becomes helplessly overpowered by it.
Still, nice vanilla-coconut fragrance.
