Default Awaharibeni in spike!

I have had this plant for over a year, May 2017. It was a Mother’s Day gift purchased from Orchids Web. It has grown well though it has always had a few leaves with yellow tips, never lost any leaves.

This morning while watering well, we are going to be away for a few days, I found the tiniest spike! I never expected this plant to flower. I actually had to grab a macro lens to be sure this really is a spike it’s that small. Or my old eyes are worse than I thought

According to Orchids Web once it begins to flower it can bloom off and on for an entire year. I’ll be happy with once, hope to see flowers soon.

In the first picture the spike is at the top of the plant a bit to the right. Hard to see.
