No hard feelings, I guess it really depends how one defines 'hybrid' in the case of this species. it is only logical to assume that it was meant in the broad sense, as it is used in several other sub forums. If my post came across as a bit hard, it wasn't my intention. My early morning postings tend to be the clumsy ones.

Just ordered one- been wanting one for a while, what's your culture for this one? typical asco/ neo culture?

I had one years ago and it bloomed quite a few times for me every year or maybe at least twice, hear anything about this clone? or how often do your other clones bloom?

In my opinion, any plant that has a Neofinetia (Vanda) falcata background should be welcome in a Neofinetia sub forum. My reasoning is, that hybrids, like this one, brings color variety and flower format to an otherwise sea of white flowers. The flower on this Omega version seems to have broader, flatter, petals. Does it have any fragrance? My version of Cherry Blossom has very little fragrance.

I keep it in similar conditions to my other Cherry Blossom, a 'Santa Cruz Sunset'. I've only gotten one bloom a year from it so far, and it is slightly fragrant. I didn't notice any fragrance on the 'Omega'.

To obtain such color variety, it is not necessary to include hybrids containing Neofinetia which do not bear any resemblance to Neofinetias in floral form, but merely contain Neofinetia in their genetic background. I am positive that you are familiar with Neofinetia Yubae, Kibana, Raikoumaru, etc. and perhaps Myeongwol introduced recently with much highly deserved fanfare in this section of the board. I certainly am not trying to exclude such Neofinetia hybrids from this section of the board but would encourage their inclusion. Even possibly the registered Shojo and Shutennou might be hybrids according to some. I'm not trying to discourage postings including them either.

I am now done posting on this thread. I do believe however discussion or even controversy should be welcome.

This board should be more than just asking for help about recalcitrant plants; something I have done myself on one occasion.

'Santa Cruz Sunset' did, but it was a VERY light, bury your nose in a bunch and inhale deeply smell. I didn't detect anything from 'Omega' but I received it in full bloom and the flowers only lasted a few days after I received it.
