Default 2 new Neos, meet Zuiun and Kinyuko

My local 'dealer' imported another large batch of Neos from Korea, and kindly sent me the list of plants. Of course I couldn't resist, and after much hesitation I selected Zuiun and Kinyuko. They arrived bare root, and since I ordered some long strand NZ sphag at the same time, I could do a nicer job of potting them than I usually do.

I can't find much information in English on either but if the research I did is correct, Zuiun is 瑞雲 and Kinyuko is 金幽晃. Normally Kinyuko should become more yellow in the right conditions. I have massive doubts on the second one. I think that both are korean varieties?

Great purchase. they look great

The Kanji you found for both are correct. Both are well known varieties originally discovered in Japan. They are also both seed propagable so some minor variation in physical qualities is apparent between individual specimens.

Your Zuiun is pretty much showing the characteristics it is known for right now.

Kinyuko essentially has the same variegation as Koganenishiki to the extent that it's hard to tell them apart. Given the right conditions, which is usually recommended to be more light, it'll begin to yellow up from the top surface and tip, gradually towards the base of the leaf.
