Spike?

Is this a spike on my Seikai? It has produced a new leaf and has root growth. I have only had it one month, but it seems to be doing well.

Yes it is!

Be super careful when watering not to get any water on it.
If you do, the spike is subject to rot. Seikai is more vulnerable to this than other neos.

If you get a drop of water on it, take a corner of tissue paper or toilet paper and gently touch it to the drop.

Finally the bad news is that most likely the spike was initiated prior to your receiving it a month ago, but at least your care did nothing to impede it.

Wow, I would be doing a happy dance! I thought my Seikai had a spike emerging, it is a new fan so I’m happy regardless. Please post pictures as this little one develops!
