My olla is filled with water and LECA to distribute the moisture better. I made the lid to try to control seepage (a decent seal) but the LECA worked better. It is basically a cool log and I feed it externally.
I did have one mounted on slate tiles. That was PIA! Like mentioned above, watering was a hassle. I might try again if I can set up a reservoir and timered pump.
I have a couple in sphag but I'm not a fan of it. I don't care for the traditional style (sorry but I think it looks like a bowl of discolored rice).
