Yes, Jordan, please post a pic for us!
Gwen, I've got a 'short list' a mile long... have to find a way to narrow it down some more, or they won't have any room to bring any other plants for sale to the show! Its almost like a mini project - but I've got 20 on my list!
If I posted the list, would everyone vote?
Becca, I've read elsewhere that new grows than spikes can get confusing, and what starts off like a new growth seems to morph into a spike! I'll try to find a link to the info (with pictures) when I get back from London. I think it was on another forum.

That's the fun isn't it? Some just don't strike a fancy at that moment. Kinda like love at first sight. lol It either happens or it doesn't.
I was seriously admiring those yellow forms! Nice Nice Nice!
Very intereting cross with the Sedirea japonica! That's really beautiful & different!!!!
I just woke up and haven't begun my coffee and orchid staring rounds, but can't wait to play Japanese potter.
I bought a pot yesterday but wow, it sure is big. So I don't know if I have a big problem (pot too big) or small problem (Neo. too small).
I guess it will all work out.

I haven't Becca... but I will let you know when I do!! I want to track this one down - even if I have to go to Japan and get it myself!

Hi All, I have a Neofinetia falcata that I've had for about 8 months. It's hanging in a slotted plastic pot, which isn't pretty. It looks healthy but it has the tiniest of black specks on it pretty much everywhere....is that normal? Also, what is the Janpanese potting technique you are all talking about? I must have missed something when I blinked!
BTW, yours is gorgeous and I would love to make mine look better than what it looks like just hanging now.

Kiki,
Thanks! Mine was in the same kind of basket, roots hanging freely - all 12-15" of them! Here is a link to potting information:
Neofinetia potting
There was another good link to instructions posted here, but I can't find it at the moment.... Does someone remember it?

Thanks so much! I will have to get some courage up to try that. How do you water the one with the cavity?
Wouldn't it cause it to collapse if you soaked it good?
Also, does yours have the black specks on the leaves? Does that happen to them or is mine different and possibly in trouble. Sorry for so many questions, but I am so fascinated with this new look!

Kiki, Mine haven't collapsed yet!! I don't really know how it all stays in place - maybe the bulge of the ball (Don't start, Dorothy!!) helps to keep it sitting on top of the pot? I mist nearly everyday, and give them a good soak in the sink once a week so far (winter, still) - will probably increase that once the weather warms up.
Mine doesn't have black flecks on the leaves - though in reading about the various types I do remember reading about ones with 'calligraphy marks' which seemed to imply little black marks. But I haven't seen a good photo of them... and I really wish there were some good explanations of the myriad foliage types! Do you have a pic of your's? I'd really like to see what you're talking about.

Oh Lordy
Nubbins are enough to get me excited .. now you are suggesting bulging balls

Neos have moved up on my mile long list
I'm waiting for what we chose in the plant project and go from there ..
It could also be a possible travel companion ..
