I would wait to see what experts say, but - in your cool weather I think that big pot full of sphagnum will stay wet and cold too long. I would not try to rescue a rotting Neo in the winter by potting in sphagnum moss.

This was the first one that Matt advised me a month ago with.
But if med./small bark or better yet bare root ( it has massive roots for a little guy) would better help me save the newer bean leaf one, I'll try.

I would go with what Matt says - but look up his old posts on Neos here using the search feature. Maybe PM him and ask for advice on what to do now. The one thing you don't want is a cold wet plant.

I would not repot it again. Tepid water at the kitchen sink and then let it dry out. Provide plenty of moving air. I would also take it out of the outside pot and let it just stand in its net pot— the net pot allows good air exposure.

Over 45 yrs orchids and 40 yrs neos.

If your plant is still alive, you are lucky. I recently purchased a small single growth Neofinetia Fukiden from SE and similar symptoms developed within days. It got worse and worse spreading to leaf after leaf and died within about a month.

I believe the problem was freezing during transport in the plane's cargo hold or possibly on the tarmac. This never happened to me in over 10 years ordering through the mail. Even in the summer cargo holds not temperature controlled can kill plants.

Don't feel guilty. The problem might not be you.
