Red face Fun with repotting

Hi all.

Inspired by those beautiful ideas on the web, I repotted a fuukiran from my latest lot. My first such attempt, but I think it looks decent. What do you think?

The "rock planter" pot is from a vendor in this year's CNE (Toronto).

Regards,
Shakil

Thanks a lot! It's a Hōgyoku, a bean leaf with straight tsuke.

I think it looks amazing! I assume there are no holes in this pot? It could be interesting to grow this way, just have to watch the watering closely. I do that anyway so why not have a interesting pot.

I agree, there are many awesome ideas for growing on the web. I hope this works well for you, it really looks great, nice job! I've wondered about mounting one on a rock, just never tried it...yet.

Thanks for the kind words! Thankfully, it's a bonsai pot, so there is a large hole in the centre; comes with a plastic stopper/plug too, just in case you don't want to use the hole (I left the hole open). It actually dries up faster than the mounded ones on standard pots due to reduced moss, so I think the plant should do just fine.

Really, a bonsai pot? I've used a few of them myself though they look like a typical pot for the most part. This is especially nice as it looks like natural stone. I would think the plant would do very well.

Well they are a bonsai/air plants store and sell these as bonsai planters: Rock Planters.

That looks great, I love the natural look of that pot!

Bonsai pots for Neos isn't unheard of. Erin Pottery (I think it's now Erin Bonsai) makes beautiful handmade, natural looking bonsai pots, and many people here were using them for Neos. They do have a number of taller pots so those work well.
