I find that no-id/generic ones can be quite pretty too, specially if you train the leaves and make the fans uniform....
Hmmm. I have ethical doubts about this. It seems disrespectful, demeaning and speciesist to train plants with independent existences to perform silly tricks for our amusement.

I do not see why not when they have been doing the same thing to us for years.

It's just instinct for them. We're supposed to be the moral agents, capable of better behavior.

Skhan those pots are gorgeous! I'm not sure how often Satomi of Seed Engei has pots available, she may be able to get small ones? She had pots from her Japan trip in July, no doubt sold by now.

I would love to have these pots though when I consider how many Neos I could by for the price of one pot, I reconsider.

Meh, depends on where do YOU want to draw the line... some will say removing these from their natural habitat, forcing them to produce flowers/seeds by giving them controlled light/water/ferts, dividing and selling them is rather insensitive/cruel, and some part of me must agree with that too...

Edit: to clarify, by training I meant using chopsticks etc., not harsh bonsai-like work... note that such training can be seen as a somewhat natural phenomenon (e.g. this might happen when some tree branch is on the way of growing leaves), not all that different than natural vs. artificial watering/lighting/fertilizing.

Thanks! I'll remember to bug Satomi next time :).
