My two new Neofinetia falcata's
I was really bad and purchased these two off of ebay, I just couldn't resist! The variegated one in Neo. falcata RainnoHikari and the non-variegated one is Neo. falcata Tougen. The Neo. falcata Tougen either has new growths or spikes starting, which I tried to show in a couple of the pictures. These are my first Neo's so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I plan on growing them in my large orchidarium and would eventually like to have them mounted, but I will let them be for now. The ebay listing said they came from Japan to the WOC where someone purchased a few to many and was selling them for a friend on ebay. The seller had a decent rating and with one adult beverage to many, I figured what the heck! I just love the size of these and could easily get hooked on them....hopefully I won't have to wait too long to see blooms! Oh...and one other question, if the tag they came with just has the variation name hand written on them, can I still enter them into a show someday down the road?

How cool are these! I'm seriously jealous!!! You are right, these could easily become an addiction within the orchid addiction!
Came across this info, for culture:
Culture of Neofinetia falcata -
Neofinetia falcata Culture
I have been looking around trying to find the variegated left type recently, with no luck. However, if New World Orchids ( New World Orchids Home Page) comes to any shows in the UK this year, I'm going to ask them to bring an order for me!! Though some of the prices on these can be just crazy.
As for being able to show them, they are species... so I wouldn't think only have their varietal name written on the tag would be a problem.
The next time my husband is in Japan, I am going to ask him to look for those little pots they do for these...

Neos' seller in Cenral Japan
 there,
I am new in Orchid Board but I have been growing Orchids for the past 2 years. I am really captivated by the Neo's beauty.
Are there members here stationed in Japan? I will be travelling to Central Japan next week. Can someone tell me where can I get Neo. Falcata plant there?
Thanks...
Allen

Hi Allen! Welcome to the Orchid Board! I'm not sure if there are any members stationed in Japan. If you called Orchids Limited they might be able to tell you where you can get them in Japan....but heck...you might be able to get what you want from them!
Edit: Ooops....just saw where your location is. Orchids Limited still might be able to help you though!

Dorothy, Then you should have a look here:
อาหารว่าง ยามเช้า โดย : ตะวันสุริยา : 2006-12-19 09:40:11 Powered by : 212cafe.com
(Note: the above site seems to load slowly, but its worth it in the end!)
I have just had Vandofinetia Pat Arcari 'Nuit Blue' arrive today along with Ascofinetia Cherry Blossom (I think that's right, the tag says: Neo. falcata x Ascda. ampullaceum).
BTW, does anyone know of or can find a reference to the various foliage types that are used in the descriptions? Particularly 'pine needle leaves' and 'bean leaf' - just wondering what the difference is....
Does this still mean we can choose Neo. falcata for the project??? I'd love to get another one!!

hmmm....I wonder if it were to win for the project plant if we could select what variation we would like to purchase...lol. I would love a bean leaf type.
Shakkai, if you go to orchidweb.com and search for Neo's, you should be able to see the difference in the foliage types.....and they will out of the U.S. as well.
Another website for pictures are THE NEOFINETIA WEB 富貴蘭
