Another Neo
Sadly, the tag on this plant has gotten worn and so I can't read the full name, but it's Nf "White Dragon" x Nf "A....", and I have no idea what comes after the A in the second name. Oh well, it's pretty. Sorry about the pictures - taken with my phone rather than a real camera:
In the foreground right is Hoshiguruma, and the above plant is in the left rear:
The fragrance in the room almost approaches overpowering, but I love it!

Sweet! Pretty and healthy leaves too.
Are you growing those in bark, John? How are you finding that? More/ less difficult than the typical sphagnum?
Do tell!

Nice Neo, pretty blooms too. They look to have a little pink in them. Maybe the vendor could tell you the name?

I'm an oddball, I suppose. I grow Neos in bark (or mounted)and I grow Phals in sphagnum. In all honesty I've never even tried growing a Neo any way but bark or mounted. Way back when I first discovered Neos, the Japanese style of building elaborate sphagnum mounds hadn't made its way to the US yet. I can't say, then, if bark is harder or easier but I CAN say that in my experience Neos are delightfully easy to grow.

I've noticed a yellow tint to them, especially compared to the Hoshi, which is snow white. I contacted the vendor about a year ago about the plant's tag. Sadly, they had recently changed ownership, records were a mess, and they had no way to try to help me. I'm not overly concerned about it though - I'm never going to try breeding my plants and I can enjoy them just as much not knowing their names as when I do.

They do look kinda like they're in jail, don't they? They live in my miniatures area, where most plants are mounted and hung. I use hardware cloth (background) and metal racks to hold them. The Neos aren't hanging, so live between a couple of the metal racks. I PROMISE I am NOT punishing them!

That thought crossed my mind, too.

Oh, I kind of thought that they were blooming so that you would forgive them.

OK, I admit it. I've told them every day since they bloomed that IF they behave better next bloom cycle and give me MORE spikes then I might consider a parole. Maybe.
