Collecting Furan and growing them successfully is something I am working very diligently. I have other multiple plants: Nishidemiyako (4), Higashidemiyako (5), Koganenishiki (4), and Amanogawa (5). The reason I have multiples is that whenever these plants come up for auction, if no one has bid on them, I bid about a dollar or two above the bid asking price and I got them. This was a couple of years ago--when there was a handful of us bidding against each other. But I have noticed in the last year, there have been a lot of new people bidding against me. Eventually I started buying directly from Seed Engei, OrchidWeb and New World Orchids and even Al to get my Furan fix. It is rare I win eBay auctions these days.

I've only had it a couple years. It has multiplied quicker than most other varieties though. Likes to grow up out of pot.

I noticed in the very long thread of buying Neofinetia on eBay that New World Orchids and Orchids Limited used to sell on eBay?!! What happened to that? It would be awesome if those two still sold on eBay.
I ask Al about him selling on eBay and he said " Oh no, I don't use eBay" like it was a bad thing. He's so funny.
I've been buying on eBay for ages, back when we had dial up it was not nearly as easy or fun. Now it's more of a personal challenge, I've become the sniper I always hated. There is just something exciting about winning an auction in the last few seconds.
Oh and Matt, obviously you are a hoarder with that list you just posted! Nice

Neofinetia falcata Setsuzan from eBay
Patty, yes, New World Orchids and Orchids Limited used to sell on eBay. But I think they stopped because eBay can be a very expensive way to sell plants. Seed Engei, err, japaneseorchids has such large volume of plants that they can probably make a little profit or at least break even. As you can see, sometimes the bidding gets so high, they do make a tidy sum on 'must have' plants.
I am on Seed Engei's mailing list, so I avoid the drama of bidding and getting the plant I want. Plants on the monthly sale list are usually less than what is asked for on eBay--I think that is to cover the expense of listing on eBay. All that said, I also enjoy the bidding sport and trying to out snipe a competitor.

Matt, Probably a good thing I think, if NWO and Orchids Limited were still on eBay I would have to practice some self control. What fun is that?
