Hi does anyone know if this variety is difficult to grow and flower?

It's more or less normal in its vigor and ease of flowering compared to most other neos. It shouldn't be difficult at all, and from both my experience and others I have spoken with, it is actually fairly easy to flower.

However, given that there are a lot of seed grown ones out there, there may be some variation among individual specimens.

Hello Chip Molly, As 'hakumin" replied, this is not a difficult plant to grow and flower. The tradition of acquiring this plant (consequently expensive) is to buy a plant when it is in bloom. My plant was in bloom when I bought it. This is important consideration because once a plant is in bloom, subsequent flowering seasons will be easier. As an example, two years ago, my plant bloomed. Then last year it bloomed in the Spring. Surprisingly it bloomed again in the fall. The second bloom last year was even more profuse!
