That's when you can carry them into the inspection station, right? For example, when you carry-in with airplane. With international shipping, with PPQ587 permit, you'll get the yellow/green sticker where you send the plants to.

I asked a more experienced source who has imported many plants into the US for personal collection and she said that in her experience she was able to directly receive plants with no issue. However I myself am not completely sure to be honest.

I'm going to try to dig up more official information. The codes are so hard to understand sometimes...

Thanks Hakumin. That's really helpful info I could use on a future purchase. I did skip on the Harunoumi. I ended up ordering a Koukakuden from New World Orchids.

Fingers crossed that I get a good one. I'd been contacting them by email to see if they had a similar one and didn't hear from them for a few days, so I placed this order. Then I get an email back from them about the Koukakuden and the lady tells me that they can have more muddy root tips than ruby, but it varies per plant. She also said she didn't have a good one at the moment. We'll see what show up. Like I said, fingers crossed.

Well, I got my order in from New World Orchid and I'm impressed. It arrived quickly, was well packaged, and looked healthy.

On top of that, I think they have a good business strategy. With these plants having strong Japanese connotations, they went above and beyond. When I opened my box, there was a nice set of chopsticks and the plant was wrapped, inside the other packaging, in a page from and Asian newspaper. I just thought it was a really nice touch.

Yeah, like I said, I'm impressed with my order. Those little touches that went above and beyond what I think another vendor would do for the same order.

I'll definitely purchase from her again. She'd said in a previous email she didn't have a good one, but it looks good to me.

Matt, sorry it took so long to get this put up, but I've been slammed. Here they are.

This is a great plant! I like your inclusion of the packaging! I'm glad you got this plant.
