Also, dividing into too small a piece might cause the plant to revert to plain green leaf form, or at lest this is what I read about certain cymbidium varieties.
Not sure if the same holds true for the variegated neos.
I'm still on the hunt for tiger leaf neo.

I really don't know what the secret is. From what I understand higher light (without burning the leaves) definitely helps. However I have two variegated neos where more light doesn't really help (getsuden. Asahiden) whereas more light for higashidemiyako , kujaku nishiki, Fuji nishiki seem to work. I wish I knew the secret formula.
