Default Vanda (Neofinetia) falcata FUGAKU 富嶽

Bought as a Fugaku but I have a serious doubt because of the leaf pattern which is very different...

Vanda (Neofinetia) falcata FUGAKU 富嶽 or Aojiku Fugaku 青軸富嶽

Lovely variegated neo. I've been on a variegated neo binge lately. Thanks for sharing.

It certainly looks like an ao-jiku something!

I see that this is an old one, but for information's sake for whoever might look it up in the future.

This is Aojiku Fugaku. It has no purple pigments at the plant center, which Fugaku has.

The first two letters in Chinese literally means Green Axis.

Thank you for the clarification. I have Fugaku and it has some purple pigments at the plant center, not much though. The plant pictured has much more variegation on the leaves, much stronger than my plant. I've wondered if the Aojiku Fugaku is known for this? I had thought it may be light related or simply the difference in my plant not having as much variegation as another.

The plant shown is beautiful.

Fugaku, both with or without the purple pigmentation, are highly variable in the amount and degree to which they are variegated, so much so that I don't see what makes them Fugaku on certain plants.

Some are nearly just plain green or very little yellow.
These may or may not break out yellow on the future growths.

If you want Fugaku with a lot of yellow like I do, then you have to start with one which looks that way.
Then, give them a lot of light.

Fugaku is among those that need the strongest light according to the neo light requirement chart.
Don't burn it in the midday sun, though.
