Default Neo Season Is Back!
Buds are getting ready to open.
I like to see them develop. The unique shape is quite something to see.

For some reason, this plant is not sending up a bunch of spikes together like it did in the past years.
I see a few more coming.

Shutennou is a flowering machine, and very beautiful!
I should get one. I have two "hybrids" of it, one of which flowered last year, and both of them are just spiking.

Neofinetia in bloom is a sure harbinger of Spring! Congratulations NYC! You've been talking about a Shutenno so I hope this is the year for you!

My Neo is at the same stage as yours. And like you, have less spikes than the previous years... Although they appear out of nowhere sometimes.. And watering today noticed it actually has an other 4 spikes, which are way behind the first spike in development. The nice bit is that at least I'll have a longer blooming season

I'm really tempted but the other "hybrid" I haven't seen flowers yet, so I will wait and see if I will like the flower.

Last year, it was the opposite for me.
Mine had a bunch of spikes in bloom all together, and then about a month later, one spike grew and flowered.
