As the chokko flowers finished, the raikomaru just started to open. The floral segments of the raikomaru are wider and stouter than the chokko. The spur is slightly shorter and thicker too. The peduncle of the chokko is also longer. Color of both are very similar... Bright cerise tepals and white lips, slightly darker in chokko. But if you look carefully, the raikomaru colors at the end is not as solid in the tepals. The border looks speckled whitish. Yet the base color is still pink cerise, even from looking from behind.
Vegetatively the raikomaru is a more stouter compact plant, like the bigger bean varieties while the chokko has straight long leaves of the regular neos.
Fragrance very very light in evening...
The controversy continues whether raikomaru is a species or a hybrid. Guess it depends on who you talk to p
