On mine I just tried to put many of the roots in the pot with bark to keep the plant from wobbling around. It is not really tight but it is sort of planted with the bark.

Think it would hurt if i painted the pot outside? Nice drainage hole and it is clay. This might be my last question!

Not sure I would do that unless I knew the paint was non-toxic.

Thank you! I can't take that chance. I did spray sealer inside so I am glad you reminded me. Better not.

Not sure about sealer. I use clay pots because they allow the plant to dry out and "breathe" in a way. I would think spraying a sealant on a clay pot would defeat the purpose of a clay pot. Just a thought.

Use it as a cache pot on a plant that needs one.
