This is one of the two seed-propagated plants of Ascofinetia (well, now both parents are reclassified as vanda, but...) Cherry Blossom I have been growing about two years.
I saw two spikes emerging just recently and today I checked them as I watered them and they are forming tiny buds.
I've seen some color variations, so I'm super excited about finding out what this one (and the other one in the future when it decides to bloom) will look like.
This hybrid can makes tons of flowers per spike, but I doubt this will be the case.
This is a first flowering, and at least one of the spikes is dry dead on the tip with only about four buds developing. The other spike is still looking good and I'm patiently waiting. Well, this has been growing nicely compared to some other things I have like Neostylis Pinky. It took 7 months to grow less than an inch in length and then the whole thing just dried up. Grrrrrr!!!!!
