first-time Japan visitor wants to see Neos...tips?

Hey all, I'm heading to Japan in a few months in mid-July. My bf and I are trying to do a few days in Shizuoka and environs--we want to see neos blooming in situ and visit some growers. I speak some Japanese, and understand more.

Does anyone have any tips, particularly where to see a ridiculous amount of blooming wild neos?
