White Crane (Vanda sanderiana x Neofinetia falcata)
Here is my version of this hybrid. My plant started spiking around 07/04/14. I did not try to notice it because I did not want to do anything to give it reason to blast. August 07, 2014 I decided to take a photo of it.

From this photo day, it seems like the speed of development increases. Here is the plant today.

Here is another picture of the plant and its fan that developed last year. The fan is growing horizontally. After this completes its bloom, I'm going to figure out how I can get the fan to be more upright.

Thank you Jack. I think it has something to do with the weather. We have had very cool days and even cooler nights, along with a lot of rain. Yesterday, Sunday, was the fourth day of sunshine and warmth. Last night it was warm and humid. Today, I looked at the plant and the flowers have the little tail, flowers at this bud state look like little tadpoles.
I counted about a dozen buds. I know, I should not count my buds before they open!

Wow~ look at those yummy little buds!
can't wait to see the open bloom as I have never seen these, but I can only imagine good things given the charming species involved.
How big is that pot? and how long have you had it? first time flowering??

Thank you Sonya! NYCorchidman, the pot is a 4" Net Pot. I acquired this plant June 2013. It does appear to have bloomed before I got it as there was a brown flower spike left on it from the vendor. I think I acquired this one from Carter & Holmes (?)
The flowers are getting larger. Anticipation is KILLING me! When I get home tonight, I'll photograph it. (I just hope all this attention isn't going to cause it to blast!)

I recently pollinated mine with Vascostylis Thai Sky - maybe a larger, blue flower with more per spike????

White Crane (Vanda sanderiana x Neofinetia falcata)
It seems that once a certain point is reached, flowers develop quickly. The temperature today has been warm and humid, mid-afternoon it rained. Temperature overnight will be upper 60*F.
