Anyone familiar with a TV show called "Baywatch". It was a long running TV show in the late 90's, supposedly about Los Angeles area beaches life guards. But in reality it should have been called "Babe Watch". The show introduced us to the gifted and talented actress Pamela Anderson!

I don't know why I'm thinking of Pamela Anderson when I see these flowers buds? I should have titled this thread "Budwatch"!

Yep, FB is quite different.
And Yes, That Manjushage looks pretty, with a nice price tag too. I'll be glad to get mine, when my order from NWO arrives.

You all still have time to guess what color these blooms will be. As you can see, blooms are getting bigger, each blossom separating itself from the mallet. There is a third spike on the other side, it is about two weeks behind these two.

Based on this photo, I have to change my previous guess tp peach.

BTW, I have a previously unbloomed seedling of another NF hybrid, that is racing to catch up with this one. Mine is Ascofinetia Lion Star x NF, which should open in next 4-5 days. 09/10: Posted new thread with photo of this one.
I have also noticed that my Ascofinetia Moonlight Firefly is spiking for the second time this summer, so that cross appears to be free flowering and not seasonal. It is still blooming on main fan only, despite some 10-12 keikis (several of which are blooming size).

At last! I have held off posting pictures of this plant because life interfered with growing orchids. The flowers are NOT blue but it has a pink cast with dark streaks of light purple on the sepals and petals. The spurs have not grown longer but they have a pink cast to it. The flowers have a scent, very faint but discernible, especially as the temperatures get warmer.

Jealous MattWoekfsen! I've had one for a couple years now. Can't get it to bloom but it divides like crazy! Your secret?

Thanks AmyG. I grow this plant like my Neofinetia falcata--the pollen parent of this plant. Except, I did not give it a winters rest. I'm guessing that because it did NOT get a winter rest, it is now blooming. This winter, I will grow it like my Neofinetia and see if it could bloom in the Spring. I'm also thinking that if I do that, I might get these flowers to be more vivid.

If your plant is producing a lot of fans, that is great. If you can see on the plant picture, there are three spikes, two are in bloom on the right, and then on the left there is another spike. Each of these spikes are supported by one fan. My plant has six fans, someday, I hope to have all of these fans producing flower spikes.

Thanks Matt. I've been growing it like a Vanda- lots of light in a wood basket with large bark. I may try to grow it mounded like my other Neofinetia's. More moist and not quite as warm? I bought mine from Erich Michel too! Come down to Cincinnati and see him again at our fall show October 18 and 19th!
