Hello Ginger! I haven't seen you posting much lately, I hope you are doing well. How are you and your Neofinetia? You started the Flowering Neo Parade, with your post earlier in April with that lovely Manjushage. Anymore blooms coming your way?

OMG!!! I'm so jealous!!!
I love the ones with yellow stripes on the leaves.
I checked out some websites and the variegated ones were a bit pricy, and then I was like, ok, I'm not too crazy about it now. lol

When it comes to Neofinetia, the definition of "pricey" goes up a couple of notches. If you are the kind of person that likes challenges--you ARE a successful orchidist--I think you would be up for the challenge, go to eBay and bid on a couple of striped plants. There is a lovely Suruga-Fukurin 駿河覆輪 up for bid, starting price is $14.99.

Which hybrid is it??
I have one neo (the white one with no name) currently in spike ( 5 of them, yay!!!), and a tinyhybrid Baby Angel ( it has four growths but never bloomed, anyone has any idea? I assume it's a super mini plant when mature), and then another hybrid Pinky "Starry Night" which has spiked in the last two years but I blasted with underwatering.
These are all mounted, and to ease the watering on my part, I moved them all into moss. Hopefully I get to see the bloom on Pinky this fall.
I love spring! everything coming back to life and all the colorful spring flowers, orchids, trees turning green....so full of life!!!

I remember reading a post on a different forum not too long ago. This person referred to his Neo collection as his bank account.
But yes, depending on the type they can get quite pricey. But there still are many beautiful plants variegated or not that anyone can afford.

I know. My only neo, the common white flowered one, was only $25. It was already a specimen size when I bought it last spring and gave me four spikes in that summer. Now it is in 8 in pot with even more growth. This plant is like a little weed! lol
My two other hybrids of neo were of the same price from the local farmer's market.
