They say you're not a real orchid grower until you kill your own weight in plants. That's not much consolation, of course, and it would take a lot of composted Neos to reach that morbid goal. FWIW, your mishap also serves to assuage my own guilty feelings regarding the several Neos I inadvertently cooked with a space heater last month.

Losing 12 at once would devastate my little collection.
I don't want to discourage any newbies lurking but we all kill a few. Mine mostly perish due to folly (I turn them into guinea chids). I lost a few to a bacterial infection (I did manage to save my Senzai that was affected). And Masdies commit suicide rather than live with me. So, it happens, in many varied ways.
Matt, for consolation, go pick out another dozen!

Just horrible I am so sorry Matt. Try not to be too hard on yourself we have all lost plants it happens. Treat yourself to that Manjushage if the auction is still active. You need cheering up.

That is not what I would expect from a Vanda x Sedirea. Looks like a Tolumnia.

Wow! You all are super. Your notes of condolences are really appreciated. I was bummed out, but you made me laugh. You are a bucket of nuts!
A Tolumnia blossom?
If you are a new Neo nut wanna be, and you read this thread, please let this be a "lesson learned": always check twice and three times again before you close the door and go on your merry way.
Thank you.

So sorry to hear this, Matt. I feel your pain, but try not to beat yourself up too much. We torment ourselves with so many "If onlys" and "Should haves", but we are only human.
So treat yourself to some new plants. Peter T. Lin spoke at our OS last week and somehow a few of his plants showed up with my name on them...Summer Stars is one of them with one spent spike, one in flower and one to come.
