Neofinetia culture? Male
Red face Neofinetia culture?

I have a Neofinetia falcata in a basket with a pot and some chunky media as its medium. It was growing okayish but I think it could do better. I water it every three days or on every Wednesday and Sundays. The roots have started to adhere to the basket. I had it since June/July last year.

How do you grow your Neofinetias?

What is the best way to grow the Neofinetias?

Any good cultural tips that has been observed by yourself that you found helpful would be great for me.

I am not certain where you live but mine take a break from growing during the fall/winter (Ohio, shorter days, cooler). They will likely start growing again very soon.

Someone who grows in warmer climes will need to help you, then.

we have a neofinetia hybrid growing bare rooted in a basket, indoors, and it tends to stay quite dry and hot in our house so we water it EVERY DAY. and for us it seems to like this more than our previous treatment of once or twice a week. The roots then seemed to stay alive but the leaves were allways a bit wrinkled and long. Now with our new treatment the new leaves have grown much more hydrated, fatter, wider, shorter and more straight! We think the plant really likes this more.

But I think u must find the ideal conditions for your plant, and if u think it might take a bit more water, you should slowly give it some more water and watch for some growing effects before adding to the water again. Even so, we make sure our plant gets to dry out in between waterings, but it seems to dry out in less then half a day, so this doesn't seem to be a problem. The plant itself is an ascofinetia twinkle.

greetz,
Dries
