Nevr mind, just read the prior posts. I'll give OL a try next time, plant looks great. |
The Neo flower spike is growing and I think some of the buds will be blooming in the next few days. So far, it has 8 or 9 flower buds developing. The picture below was taken this afternoon, two weeks after the first spike picture. Some very nice purplish color is coming out and I am surprised by how long the 'tails' are!

A few of the flowers have opened, can't believe how quickly they open! No fragrance as of yet, or I am not around when it is fragrant. I've read some posts that say the fragrance comes out around dusk, others that it is strongest around mid-day!

Congrats!!! Bluebirds are fun! I bought one about 6 months ago. It spiked and bloomed about 2 months afterwards. The flowers are very dainty and have a nice fresh fragrance to them. I have mine mounted on tree fern/bark. It was purchased from Chadwick and Sons already mounted at our Orchid meeting.

Yay, your buds are finally opening! :)
I'd love to see a picture of one of these mounted. That must look pretty cool! |
