This little guy followed me home this weekend. I was planning on treating it like a vanda and moving it to a basket when it was done flowering, however it looks like most everyone pots neos in sphag? Do these guys like super moist conditions?
I wouldn't keep them moist all the time like you would with a Phal. They do like being dried out and watered through during the summer. I would imagine the hybrid types are similar in winter care, water less than you would in the summer/growing months.
Mine is in bark, and I give it my general orchid care; dappled sun/shade under my honey locust trees and watered twice a week during the summer and east window watered twice a week indoors. It gets enough sun that the leaves have a little bit of purple speckling on them.
No picture, but it gave me 4 flower spikes this year and took best on table in the Vandaceous class at my orchid society.
mine was in bark, but was slowly going down hill. I moved it to spag. earlier in the year and it has done a lot better. I grow it under cf lights all year. I was happy when it started to grow a new fan, but disappointed that it wasn't a spike. well it surprised me and it's put out a spike that should bloom soon and I just noticed , what I think is another spike.
