First Vanda spike ever
Today when I got home for lunch I discovered what I think is my first Vanda spike ever. I've been cultivating orchids for about three years now and I've never ever managed to rebloom a Vanda. I hope this time I will. At least, I think it's a spike. The fat root with the green tip on the lower part of the picture started end September and first I hoped it would be a spike (but knowing it was a root). This time it's different. I'm almost sure it's a spike.
I still have most of my plants outside (today it's 30º C and the minimum will be about 15ºC). In the next two weeks, highs will be between 23ºC and 18ºC and lows between 15ºC and 5ºC. Can I let her outside or would it be better to take her inside? Thanks for your input.

How exciting for you....post pics when it blooms....you must have given it bright light and humidity. Good growing.

Woooo! Congrats!
I think I have my first Vanda spike as well!
What is the name of yours? Might help people advise as to temps.

Congrats Sonya on your spike as well. Don't forget to post pictures of it's progress and blooms.
I'm not sure mine's got a name. It has never been tagged. It's a NoId, with white blooms (I posted her in this post White NoId Vanda).

Thanks keeping my fingers crossed there will be no mishaps!
Ah - maybe best to bring yours inside in that case, at least at night if temps will be quite low ? Hopefully others can better advise - I just have the one Vanda (not counting Neos), and it's a cool grower ...

I've been looking around and I think mine could be a Tayanee white.
